Meet the Owner Kimberly Dejan

The heart and soul behind KD’s NOLA Treats.

Kim DejanFrom finding solace in baking to earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting as a single mother, my journey has been one of resilience and passion.

In 2015, coworkers praised my cupcakes, sparking the idea to turn my love for baking into a business. Balancing a corporate job, I started KD’s NOLA Treats in 2016, initially selling packaged treats out of my car.  In 2017, I took the leap, leaving my accounting job to sell at an outdoor food court called Roux Carre.  When Roux Carre closed in the late 2018, I began entering festivals and pop ups to sell my best seller The Praline Brownie, along with many other delicious desserts.  A memorable moment was selling out all 3 years at the Audubon Soul Festival.  I would meet plenty of people who raved over my desserts who would go on to book me for catering and refer me to their friends, family and coworkers.  In the wake of the pandemic became the real test of how I was going to keep my business afloat.  I leaned heavily into wholesale and shipping to abide by social distancing put in place.  To give customers a grab and go option, I began wholesaling my packaged treats in local grocery stores, coffee shops, and hotels.  Over the years, I’ve participated in various accelerator programs, expanded at festivals with over 100,000 attendees, and now focus on specialized event catering for 500+ guests.

Join me in savoring the sweet success of KD’s NOLA Treats!
