Kim enjoyed baking in her youth but found herself baking more as an adult for calming and therapeutic needs while in college and later working in the corporate world. Following her born talents would then lead Kim to her own Dessert Company, allowing her to quit her accounting job to pursue entrepreneurship. Through the completion of The Family Leadership Training Institute and with the help of Dr. Freddye Hill, Kim was compelled to start a program to inspire youth with her story. This led to Baking With A Purpose, a free 2-hour hands on baking tutorial where Kim leads a class of teens at a local library, teaching them how to bake a dessert from scratch. Kim speaks on the value of honing in to your born given talents whether as a career or hobby, doing what you love or finding what it is that you were born to do. The program advocates opportunities for kids to explore their strengths and interests through baking, critical thinking, problem solving, planning and entrepreneurial activities that help teens successfully and productively transition to adulthood.
