KD started NOLA Treat Friday back in 2017 with the help of family and friends.  While still working her Corporate Accounting job and with the help of her mom, KD would bake and prepackage mini desserts throughout the week, to sell on Fridays.  Desserts ranged from Praline Brownies, Mini Pecan and Sweet Potato Pies, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Praline Ooey Gooey, Praline, and Butter Rum Bread Pudding Cups.

Starting at 7 am on Fridays, KD would load up her trunk of her car with mini dessert boxes and begin selling to local businesses with the help from her cousins, Kennedy and Kris.

The team would start on Bullard, stopping at dealerships and stores to sell desserts to workers before their lunch break began.  They’d make their way down to Broad St. stopping at Beauty Salons and Barber Shops.  They’d end in the French Quarter if they hadn’t sold out by then.  People took a great liking to the Praline Brownie.

KD would post each stop on social media and from there the demand grew to add more stops to their list; college campuses, office buildings, even home addresses.  People looked forward to the dessert menu posted to KD’s Instagram.

When KD began her tenure at Roux Carre, she sold Dessert Boxes daily.  It was an easy fix to folks not sure what to order, but wanting a taste of everything.  It was also a great way for folks to grab assortments for an event or game party.

With the closing of Roux Carre, KD began selling dessert boxes from home.

Now KD works out of a shared kitchen and offers pickup on Fridays at The Trap Kitchen, 1043 Poland St.  Each week a new Menu is posted to KD’s NOLA Treats website, social media and email subscribers.
